Pool Culture are an electronic dream-pop four-piece from Kansas City, MO. The band's aesthetic is a sonic collage of sunburned synthesizers, glistening overdrive and distortion, and found-sound samples from fragmented interviews, conversations, and pop culture.
Drawing from influences such as Boards of Canada, My Bloody Valentine, and The Books, Pool Culture are interested in creating pop songs with thick, saturated instrumentation. The band augments synthesizers with distortion and prefers dense layers in their arrangements. They use vibrato and high-pass/low-pass filters make their sounds feel worn-down or injected with short bursts of adrenaline.
