Andrew Black is a producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Portland, OR. Drawing on inspiration from his narcolepsy and the natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, Black’s ambient electronica invokes the downtempo sounds of artists such as Autechre and Boards of Canada and incorporates elements of dub-techno and trip hop.
Black has played music for over 25 years since his father first taught him to play guitar when growing up in Salem, OR, an obsession that quickly grew to include synthesizers as well. Now, his connection to music stretches across genres, from metal to ambient to electronic music. His 11th full-length LP, 5115, will release in fall of 2025 on The Record Machine / Les Bonbons Electriques.
